Evergreen Cemetery
Once neglected, the Lantana Historical Society actively revitalized the Evergreen Cemetery by adding fencing and pillars to mark its bounders. Located at the corner of Lantana Road and Arnold Avenue, this half block property is the burial site of early graves dating back to 1892. It is the resting place of sailors from the shipwreck of the S.S. Inchulva, Lantana's pioneer families, the first Lantana African-American settlers, and others.
Evergreen Cemetery was listed on the
National Historical Landmark sight in 2006.
